They will quickly associate the bad taste with what they were chewing and keep them from going there.     Puppy chewing is a completely natural act. However it must never be aimed towards your possessions or fingers. If this happens you’ll need to quickly switch it to something else.

If you don’t want your puppy chewing on your clothes then don’t allow him to chew on a slipper or sock. Or for example, giving them an old stuffed animal to play with, but expecting them not to play with other, newer ones. As the owner, lay down strict rules and make sure to follow them.
